Friendly Fill-Ins - July 1st
Labels:
Friendly Fill-Ins
A brand new meme hosted by Ann at McGuffy's Reader and Ellen at 15andmeowing. Each week they will post four fill-in statements. This looks like fun.
Here are my answers...
WEEK 8: July 1, 2016
1. I never thought I would miss my old job, but I do. After working there for 25 years, they unfortunately had to close their doors a couple of years ago. I think it's more like I miss the people. We keep in touch, but it's not the same.
2. Every 4th of July, I cringe for my kitties because they are scared of the fireworks.
3. If I knew how to open an animal shelter, I would take in all the animals with no place to go.
4. I have trouble with nasty people. Sometimes people can be downright mean to each other for no reason.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

Yvonne, your answers are really heartfelt. I am sorry your workplace closed. Bill went through that in 2009, and then reinvented himself. Our critters are not afraid of fireworks, though we have had some who were. I would love to open a shelter. There is always need. Nasty people made me so sad. Always. I have called people on it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins. Have a great weekend. Hugs!

David and I have thought it would be nice to be able to open a rescue shelter for animals, too. There are so many out there that need help. In our county, the "animal control" man hates cats and he gasses them as soon as he gets them. :( I don't know what he does to dogs or how soon, but it is immediate for the cats as I understand it. It is awful.
ReplyDeleteI sorry that your work place closed. I hope that things are working out okay for you in spite of this big change in your life.
Have a blessed weekend. :)
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins.Great answers, especially #3- a shelter would be great. Have a great 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteParticularly loved your answer to #4 .. I've never been able to understand why people feel the need to be obnoxious and/or force their ideas onto others. Hope you have a wonderful Independence Weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe are blessed with a great shelter here to volunteer for, that gets me plenty of time helping, but i don't have to be solely responsible for all of those lives. Have a blessed and beautiful Independence Day!
ReplyDeleteSome people are just rude by nature. When I was younger and more mentally fit, I would speak in such a way to show these people how rude they were and/or make them confused. For some reason, people out there do not know that people who are not quite five feet tall don't know they are not tall.
ReplyDeleteI am 6'3" and my oldest son is just over five feet. One day a woman, who should know better, saw the two of us side by side and the difference in height was apparent to her.
She said to my son, "You're short."
I responded, "Short?! He's twice as tall as I was when I was half his size." She was dumbfounded and tried to figure out what I said. Then she said, "Oh, then he will probably be tall, too." She never realized how rude she was.
For those people who say "Talk to the hand," they sure better never say that to a redneck. We would take the hand with us to continue the conversation.
