As I continue to clear out my guest room of all the books I've been hoarding, I've been inundated with review requests. My Nook is overflowing! This is much more easier to manage than my guest room stacked from floor to ceiling of books. LOL Now, I just need to read faster to complete all these reviews :) Actually, I think I need to mix in books to read for my own enjoyment along with the reviews. It breaks things up a bit to do that.
This week I completed two reviews...
A Red Hot Mess by Kimberly Van Meter
Driftwood Cottage by Sherryl Woods
Upcoming Blog Tours...
April 26th - Miss Hildreth Wore Brown-Anecdotes of a Southern Belle by Olivia deBelle Byrd
May 3rd - Kate Carlisle
May 6th - Opal Fire by Barbra Annino
May 9th - The Shepherd by Ethan Cross
May 23rd - Montezuma Intrigue by Linda Weaver Clarke
July 2nd - Settling by Shelley Workinger
On another note, although I haven't been a steady soap opera viewer in the past few years, I still kept up with the soaps I grew up with and two of them are All My Children and One Life to Live. Even if you aren't a soap watcher, you couldn't miss the news this week that both shows were canceled. This is just so sad. Unfortunately with all the different cable TV shows and other activities (social networking, blogs, internet, etc.), I guess the interest in soaps just hasn't been there anymore. It's really a shame. A big thank you to all those actors, crew, and everyone who put these shows together - you gave many of us many hours of wonderful entertainment!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

I will also review Montezuma Intrigue by Linda Weaver Clarke. Those cats are adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteI too was sad to hear that these soaps were cancelled. I'm only in my 20's but I remember watching them with my mom during the summer. My favorite of all of them is General Hospital, so I'm glad that one is sticking around - but even still, I don't get to see it much because of being at work. I still keep tabs on the show tho.
ReplyDeleteI used to love All My Children and watched it for about a decade. I even got to meet one of the cast and got a photo with him. I also have Kelly Ripas autograph from when she used to be on the show. I'm sad to see it cancelled.
ReplyDeleteI am sad about the soap cancellations, too. I had watched OLTL years ago, but then started watching it again when ATWT was canceled last fall.
ReplyDeleteThen I picked up AMC.
So...I thought they were safe, because they still have great sets, which was one of the things to go on GL and ATWT just before the end.
Then there were rumors, followed by quashing of the rumors. So I truly was surprised.
I'm sure that I'll survive, but it feels like all the things that remind me of traditions will be gone....
On another note, you do have a lot of blog tours coming up!
I've been getting more review books lately, so, yes, I do like to mix them up with "enjoyment" reading.
Here's MY SUNDAY SALON POST
You have a lot of book reviews coming up! I'll be checking them out.
ReplyDeleteI was a Guiding Light fan in high school and college. I hadn't watched in years when it was canceled, but it still made me sad. It's hard when those traditions end.
Mixing in the books that are just for fun is definitely a necessity for me. Good luck with all of your reviews!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to make the time to mix some of my own books in with the review stuff. My Kindle is so full and I keep adding stuff to it as well. I'll never get all my books read in my life time.
ReplyDeleteI have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. Please go HERE to claim your award.
