Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - January 15th

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

I just started reading this one.

First Chapter

"I don't think this is working out."

It sure isn't, Maureen thought as Dave climbed off her, tossing one leg to her side of the bed.

But he had never commented on it before.

From 56% on my Kindle...

She was just getting out of one relationship.  She didn't need to hop right into another one, no matter how tempting it might seem.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

There’s nothing like a hot kiss on a cold day…

Librarian Maureen O’Connell might have predicted she’d find herself crying into the ice cream case at the supermarket after a bad breakup—but she definitely never imagined that a guy hot enough to melt the Rocky Road would flirt with her right there in the freezer aisle. Only Gavin Fraser isn’t a fantasy, he’s a mouth-watering new flavor…

When a freak snowstorm strands Maureen at Gavin’s after just one date, it’s a perfect excuse for something a lot steamier than hot chocolate in front of the fire. It’s definitely lust. Can it also be love?

What do you think?  What are you sharing today?

  1. Now you have piqued my curiosity! Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “RACHEL TO THE RESCUE”

  2. You had me at the cover and the librarian character.

  3. That 56, man, I wish more people took that advice. Happy weekend!

  4. reading Christian Beliefs by Wayne Grudem
Like God's angels, Satan and his demons are active in the world today, and they work much evil.

  5. I have a feeling there's more to that scene. Love the cover.

  6. Looks appropriate for this time of year!

    Lauren @ Always Me

  7. That sounds like it will melt the snow as well as the ice cream. Yum! Hope you enjoy it.

  8. Ooo! This sound like a great winter romance! I hope you are enjoying it, Yvonne. This one is going on my wish list. Have a great weekend!

  9. This one has been on my TBR because of the pretty cover but the teasers really caught up my interest. I'll have to move this higher up the list!
