The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.
Hi Everyone!
It's sure been a crazy week here in the U.S. I fully planned to spend my first week of 2021 reading and enjoying my books. I planned to watch less news and do more reading. Well, that didn't happen. With everything going on, I couldn't stop watching the news. This has been an awful week. I'm really ready to escape into my books now. This weekend I'll be in Italy 😊
Before all this happened, I finished one book. So at least I got to complete something this week. I'm trying to be optimistic and think next week will be better.
Some of my regular TV shows came back this week. All I watched was This Is Us, though. Everything else is still on my DVR.
My blog has been busy and next week looks to be busy too.
Things may have started out crazy but I plan to get a handle on things and get organized. At least as far as my reading goes.
So what have you been doing this week? Read or watch anything exciting? Hope you all have a great week!

My grand plans for spending an evening reading on Wednesday were ruined as I was just stuck watching the news and couldn't believe what was taking place. So much craziness. Hope you have been able to enjoy your books this weekend! I really like the sound of Our Italian Summer.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting for Marion Lane from the library, but I am number six on three copies now, so we are getting there. Here's my post. Happy Reading!

I could really use a book set in Italy as well. :) Happy reading!!!
ReplyDeleteThe news this week was quite tense, wasn't it? The stories that are still coming out are something else. Thank goodness for books! I will be starting Willberg's novel shortly. I am really looking forward to diving in. I hope you enjoy your current and upcoming reads! Take care, Yvonne. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI have been so saddened to hear of what has been going on in the US, Yvonne - I really do pray you will have some peace soon! 🙏 As for my week, it has also been a little crazy, with should the schools be open or shut, and now a third lockdown! However I have finished one really good fun crime book and watched two great shows. In particular I re-watched series one of A Discovery of Witches, all ready to start the newly released series two!🧙♀️ Take care and happy reading! 🙂
ReplyDeleteI love This Is Us as well. I am just on the S3 and I don't want it to end. The news about the US capitol was terrible for us too.
ReplyDeleteOur Italian Summer looks like a blissful escape...and I am eyeing The Perfect Guests. Let's hope we have a calmer week ahead!
ReplyDeleteHere are my WEEKLY UPDATES
Our Italian Summer looks like an ideal escape. I'd love to head that way.
ReplyDeleteThe world has been crazy this week, and I couldn't stop watching the news either. I'm ready to see people leave the stage.
Here's to a better week!
A book set in Italy - what a wonderful escape from the craziness that was Washington... I hope you are able to slip away to other fabulous places this coming week, Yvonne:)
ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne! I didn't pay much attention to the news this week and believe it or not, the American Capitol drama didn't get much a attention here in SA. So I just waited for today to read everyone's comments and feedback!
ReplyDeleteI had a good reading and blogging week, but next week I'm back at school and won't have much time.
Thanks for the Kindle Freebies! I just downloaded Bodies, Baddies and a Crabby Tabby. Can go towards my Purrrfect reading challenge.
Enjoy your week Yvonne!

Enjoy your book trip to Italy! I'm currently reading Killer Chardonnay so I look forward to your review of a Pairing to Die For (such a great title!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to escape! Hope it was relaxing for you. Happy reading the rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteYes, the news was really crazy this week. I hope things don't get worse. Anyway, hope you have a happy new year!

Escaping to Italy sounds like a good plan. I plan on reading Our Italian Summer too.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a strange week and thankfully it's all over. I hope you enjoy your book set in Italy! I can't wait to read your review of it. My plan for next week is to read as much as possible and avoid the news. Happy reading :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us about the freebies- I just went and got Bodies, Baddies and a Crabby Tabby. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cover and title for A Crabby Tabby. I hope you enjoyed your "trip" to Italy. I've been reading multiple books this past few weeks which I rarely do. Hope we ALL have a better 2021.
ReplyDeleteHa I gave up watching the news and then I was back glued to it, mainly CNN as that's what I can get here in NZ. Compulsive viewing, all so heartbreaking. Take care and enjoy those books.
ReplyDeleteI have Marian Lane on my TBR...but I'm way down on the list. Yes, this week has been the pits! - Melinda @ A Web of Stories
ReplyDeleteI spent entirely too much time doomscrolling.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your escape into Italy!
Wishing you a great reading week
Our Italian Summer looks great! Have a great reading week!
ReplyDeleteCrazy week! I hope this one is better. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteBooks are more and more my sanctuary from a world gone mad. I've stopped watching the news, the Covid death rate here in the UK, our Covid is horrifying. Stay safe and happy reading.
ReplyDeleteItaly sounds nice! I hope you stay safe and find some enjoyable reading time!
ReplyDeleteAwww....snap....tried to get Innkeeper but its off sale now.
