My Review
After a bad break up and losing her job, Grace Williams is determined to make a new start and become the new general manager at the Hotel Fortune. She has some stiff competition for the job, but that’s not going to stop her. At a hotel function, she plans to show what a valuable employee she is when she makes eye contact with her bosses’ brother, Wiley Fortune. She's immediately attracted to the man. Then, suddenly the hotel’s balcony caves in and Grace falls to the ground.
Wiley Fortune is stunned when he sees Grace Williams. He's instantly mesmerized by her beauty. When he sees her fall over the balcony, his heart drops and he races to her rescue.
The sparks fly from the start for Wiley and Grace. Although, things do not go as smoothly as they would have liked. Since Wiley lives in Chicago, they agree that this relationship cannot be anything more than a temporary fling, but is that really what they want?
I loved this story right from the start. The main characters are so likeable. Even the secondary characters are genuinely nice. People I could really care about. It’s a fast-paced romance that I devoured.
The Fortunes of Texas are a long-running Harlequin series. This book is the first of a new “sub-series” and it’s off to a great start. I didn’t feel as if I missed anything as this book is Grace and Wiley’s story. Characters from other Fortune books make appearances but I never felt lost. I really didn’t feel as if I missed anything by not reading the previous Fortune series. However, I really want to catch up with this family. They each have their own story to tell and each book is written by a different author.
This is another series to add to my “must read” list.
