Sunday/Monday Posts - August 17th and 18th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews

Happy Sunday and Monday!

I hope everyone had a great week.  It's been a good one here...nothing exciting going on (which can be a good thing).  I finished three books this week and had another busy week on the blog.  I still have a few giveaways going on.  Only one blog tour scheduled for next week.  I'm hoping to use the rest of the month to catch up on my reviews, but we all know how these type of plans never go the way you intend.  We'll see.

I finally finished the Cedar Cove series.  I'm still watching the new TV show based on the series and enjoying it.  Speaking of TV shows based on books, I watched the first episode of Outlander.  I wasn't sure I was going to watch since I haven't read the books by Diana Gabaldon.  I've had Outlander on my Kindle for the longest time, but the size of it is a bit overwhelming since I usually read books about a third that size.  LOL  Anyway, I did watch the first episode of the Outlander TV series and I liked it.  Anyone else watching Outlander?  Anyone read the books?  How do they compare?

I don't have much else to say this week.  I hope you all are enjoying the last days of summer.  Happy reading!

  2. Oh, I need to finish the Cedar Cove series...I have read several of those books.

I haven't read the Outlander books...I was hesitant to watch the show because of it, but maybe I should.

I like the look of For Everything a Season.

    Enjoy your week!

  3. I'm curious to try the Outlander show because the books scare me to death. I pretty much want to read every book you finished this week! All 3 look good! I've got to start the Cedar Cove series one of these days. I'm curious about the Sharon Pape book. I've enjoyed her other series about a ghostly private eye.

  4. So many good books this week! I only read maybe half of the first Outlander book and was intimidated by the size and length of the series, but also the explicit and very frequent, sexual scenes. I put is aside to try another day, maybe I will change my mind about it.
I didn't know Cedar Cove was a series on tv. I don't watch much broadcast at all, mostly just binge watch series, so I missed this one. I've read just a couple of Ms. Macomber's books, and remember liking them.
    Thanks and enjoy your week.

  6. I watched Outlander and while I was at it, I realized I had read the book but forgotten about it lol ! Now I remember how things turn out - but I won't spoil. People found it slow, but I liked the first episode. Enjoy your books and have a great week ;)

  12. When I attended Chloe Neill's signing, she was raving about Outlander. I don't have access to the channel to watch it and haven't read the book despite having it for years. You can see my week here. Happy reading!

  13. I liked the 1st episode...haven't seen the 2nd yet. So far it seems true to the book. I've only read the 1st in the series!
