Every Tuesday Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?
If you'd like to play along on Teaser Tuesdays, just click the button above.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I'm about to start reading...
Wending her way through the unfamiliar serpentine streets of Wentworth Cove, Maine, Tracy Ratcliffe followed the directions she received in the mail, turned onto Old Sea Pines Road, and soon located the cottage that would be her sanctuary for the month of July.
Grayson Cottage was smaller, but more charming, than she'd imagined: a butter yellow clapboard with white trim, window boxes full of ruby red geraniums, pink and white dahlias lining a short curved stone walkway from the street to the front door. As instructed by the leasing agent, Tracy fished the key from one of the window boxes, unlocked the door and stepped into the past.
What do you think? Would you keep reading?

ReplyDeleteOh, I love the words and the cover. "Stepped into the past" seems like a cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteI to loved the last cliffhanging line of "Stepped into the past" - is that the decor of the place, does it bring back past memories for her, or does she step through a time warp of some kind and actually go back in time?!? Here's my TT.
