Sunday/Monday Posts - November 8th and 9th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Sunday!

What strange weather we are having...it looks like fall (there are leaves everywhere), but the temps are really warm.  We actually hit records high for this time of year.  I'm sure it won't last much longer and we'll all be complaining how cold it is.  LOL

I've been re-thinking everything I do as far as reading goes for next year.  I'm cutting back on blog tours and my reading challenges.  I will only be hosting two reading challenges next year - Cruisin' thru the Cozies and What An Animal Reading Challenge.  As for Finishing the Series, I'm passing the baton to Bea at Bea's Book Nook.  She's going to take over that one (thank you Bea!)  I'll still join a couple of other challenges, but not as many as I used to.

I'm way behind on my TV viewing but I'm pretty caught up with Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Code Black, The Blacklist, Madam Secretary and The Walking Dead.  I still have so much to watch.  My DVR is bursting.  LOL

And that's my week in a nutshell.  What's yours been like?

Yvonne

  1. We had a few days of 70's too, it was nice! It's cooled off now though, I think that's all over... sadly. Still, the sun was out. Next week won't be as nice.

I keep adding shows too. Those are so many! Rest ye Murdered and Claws for alarm both look fun.

  3. The only TV show of mine I'm actually up to date with it TWD. The rest ... total slacker. Hope you have a great week.

  4. I completely understand that need to cut back. I don't actually participate in a lot of blog tours (only a few each year) and rarely participate in a challenge cos I struggle with too many 'things I HAVE to do'. I can do them, but just hate being told I have to... if that makes sense!

  5. We've had a very warm week, too, and it's so beautiful outside with the leaves in all different colors, plus the sun and the blue sky to set it all off! It's cool in the morning and the evening though, to remind us that it is indeed fall!
It's a good idea to think about how to plan your blogging for next year, and cutting back a little is often the way to go :) I'm glad you'll still be around, though!
Your new books look great, Yvonne, especially Death Before Decaf!
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.

  7. I am cutting back on blog tours as well! I seriously over extend myself and sometimes, it makes reading less enjoyable! Have a great week!! Samantha @thebookdisciple

  8. It was warmer than normal last week - when we left Montreal Wednesday it was almost 60 degrees. It was like spring break!

  9. It has been cooler here, with low at 50 this morning...but the afternoons warm up to the 70s. I like that just fine.

So far I haven't turned on the heat...and, of course, no air conditioning, so the PG&E bill should be nice.

Love the cover on Rest Ye Murdered Gentlemen....and I am also behind on my DVR. But not the soaps...LOL.

Have a great week...and here are

  10. Thanks for letting me take over Finishing the Series, I'm excited about it! I also need to cut back on blog tours but they are so tempting, lol.

How was Death Before Decaf? It's coming up soon for me.

Enjoy the good weather while you can and have a good week!

  11. Ohmigosh, Yvonne, it looks like you are deep in the middle of cozy heaven! (I will try not to be jealous!)

  12. My DVR is full to bursting too! I really need to do nothing except watch TV and read for the rest of the year but of course the weird people I live with want things like dinner and clean clothes so I don't do nearly as much as I'd like! I've decided to take a break from challenges next year. I love the idea of them but I'm absolutely terrible at keeping up with them even though I usually do the actual reading! Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  13. With this warmer fall our DVD is full, but we will get caught up when it gets cooler.

  15. Our weather has been warm and rainy. Hoping for cooler and sunny, but I suppose we must ale what we get! I'm inspired by seeing that you are already thinking about challenges for next year. Wow!

  16. The Library looks good - I will definitely have to find it - I love books about books. Enjoy the rest of your reading week!

  17. Wise to cut back when you have so much to do. I am not joining as many challenges either next year but just a few. I intend hosting a couple as well, but low key ones.

  18. I know I'll never catch up with TV shows...ah well...binge watching has it's advantages too! lol

  19. We are having mornings of 44° and even though it says mid-60's, it's windy and brisk outside. My week has been the usual of blogging, knitting, and reading. I don't watch as much TV anymore; I had stopped watching a few shows b/c I was tired of them.

  20. It has been warm, but the past two days have been chilly.

Challenges are a bit much for me. Sometimes cutting back has to be done.

    Have a wonderful week.

  21. Our weather has been lovely too. I understand about re-evaluating your reading life. I think sometimes it is hard to remember that reading and blogging is supposed to be fun and not another job. Come see what I am reading here. Happy reading!

  22. We have had ten straight days of rain. The sun finally came out today - yeah!

I'm on a forced cut back at the moment due to health issues. sometimes we all need sometime for us.

  23. You have some great books here, because they not just look good but they also sound amazing. Now imagine my TBR growing even more :)) I need a second life just for reading all the books I want. Can't wait to see what you think of them!

    Happy reading!
