Blog Tour: Review of Wedlocked by Bonnie Trachtenberg

Genre:
Fiction

Format:
Ebook

Publisher:
iUniverse

Release Date:
June 2011

New Yorker Rebecca Ross has dreams. She dreams of being a big actress just like her grandmother had been, but Rebecca’s mother has her own dreams for her daughter. Acting isn’t one of them. Her mother wants to see all of her daughters married to nice Jewish men. Unfortunately for her, the girls all have minds of their own.

With the help of her cousin, Rebecca is cast in a movie and flies 3000 miles to Hollywood. Much to her mother’s dismay, Rebecca decides to make her home in California only to discover that being in a movie isn’t as exciting as she thought it would be. It doesn’t take long before she learns she’s just a small fish in a very large pond.

Not only does she lose her movie role, but she loses her new boyfriend in the process. Dejected, she returns home to New York and moves back with her parents. When she meets Craig Jacobs, Rebecca is sure her luck is about to change. After dating for a short time, they marry. Her mother is thrilled since he’s the nice Jewish boy she always envisioned for her daughter. However, Craig isn’t what he appears to be and things take a disastrous turn for the worst.

This book has everything – drama, humor, sadness and even some adventure tossed in. Wedlocked is a fast-paced book that makes you giggle and cry at the same time. Readers will be cheering for Rebecca and wanting to see things turn out right for her. For me, Rebecca is the star of the show and I didn’t want this book to end. I do hope to see more of Bonnie Trachtenberg’s work and, hopefully, another book with Rebecca. I want to make sure everything is going right for her :)
