The Weekend Review - May 13th-15th Happy Mother's Day!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Happy Mother's Day to all those celebrating!  I hope you have a beautiful day!

I had a good week.  I finished two books and they were both good ones.  With the weather being so humid, I've decided to table audiobooks for awhile, but I still wanted to finish the Agatha Raisin book that I was listening to.  So, I borrowed the e-book from the library and will continue reading it.  It's really so good.  I love this series.

The TV season is winding down.  Only a few more episodes left and then I hope to concentrate only on my reading.  With the writer's strike going on, I have no idea when the next season of new episodes will begin anyway.

I watched a Tom Hanks' movie, A Man Called Otto.  It was so good.

Other than that, things have been the usual.  How have things been in your part of the world?  I hope you all have a great week!

These books are on my upcoming reads list.  Although my reading plans frequently change and I might be adding to this.

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. So nice to have a good reading week! Yes! I like A Man Called Otto as well. Backman is one of my favorite authors! Isn’t Nora Roberts one who seems to always write good books? Happy reading!

  3. A lot of my regular shows haven't been airing new episodes every week and I'm not liking it :(

I love Tom Hanks so I started watching A Man Called Otto, but thought it was strange seeing a different version of A Man Called Ove since I loved the book and movie so much. I had planned on starting it again sometime and after reading your thoughts on it I'll watch it within the next few days.

I hope you have a great week!

  4. We saw A Man Named Otto last week, too. Tom Hanks showed us a person who was closed off from the world after his wife died. It took the persistence of others to get through to him. An important story, I think.

    Enjoy your reads this week!

  14. I'm wondering when the fall season will premier as well. It sounds like this strike could last quite a while, so I'm guessing it will be delayed. Maybe I'll get to some of the TV on DVD sets I've been wanting to rewatch.

  15. I'm sorry it's too humid to walk outside. I listen to audiobooks at home while playing computer games. I don't have to worry about the weather to enjoy my stories. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  16. Great you got two books read. Pity about weather and audiobooks but maybe find another way of fitting them in!
