The Weekend Review - May 20th-22nd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

The weather in Florida is hot and humid.  I'm guessing it's only going to get worse as summer approaches.  Perfect days for me to sit inside by the a/c and read.

This was a nice week for me.  It was our 36th wedding anniversary.  We went to Ruth Chris' Steakhouse for the first time.  It was really nice.  Good food.

I managed to finish two books this week.  Both were good.  I'm hoping to get in at least two more by the end of the month.

Most of my TV shows are coming to an end in the next week or so.  Survivor has their finale on Wednesday and so do the Chicago shows - Fire, PD and Med. Next week are the finales for NCIS: LA and NCIS, too.  Last week were the finales for some of my other favorites like 911, 911 Lonestar, Fire Country and Blue Bloods. My schedule is about to be cleared for reading.

Not much else to report here.  How was your week?  I hope you all have a great upcoming week.

  1. I only watch a couple of series, Blue Bloods is one. The only thing I watch during the summer is the Mariners (baseball). So, you're right - lots of time to read.

  3. I have a few shows that will continue on beyond this week, and American Ninja Warrior starts next week. But hopefully, I can get through some of my DVD sets while things are slower this summer. I'm already almost half way through season 7 of Murder, She Wrote (I've been watching and reviewing a season a summer).

  5. I swam in a friend's pool this week. The water was cold at first, but it didn't take a minute before it felt refreshing under the hot sun.

The best steak I've ever had was at Ruth Chris' Steakhouse in San Antonio.

It will be lovely to have all that new free time to read once the tv season is over.

  6. Our weather has been up and down this past week and weird for this time of year.

If I was still watching regular TV you watch the type of shows I would watch! We just stream things now and I mainly watch reruns of my favorite older shows.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  7. We were thinking of going to Tampa in June or July, but hot and humid I do not like. Unless I stay on the beach and out of hurricanes, that is. Have a good week.

  8. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary - that's an achievement, these days:)). I'm intrigued about the Agatha Raison book - I've watched and enjoyed the TV series, but never read the books. Have a great week, Yvonne:).

  19. Happy Anniversary! I am glad you were able to have a nice dinner out!

I am sorry your weather is already miserable. It's supposed to be a hot summer here. Right now it's actually a bit cooler than it's been which is a nice surprise. I wish I could share it with you!

Looks like you have been reading some good ones! I really need to focus more on my cozies soon.

I hope you have a great rest of the week, Yvonne, and happy upcoming weekend!
