Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - May 26th

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

This looks really good.  I want to read this one soon.

First Chapter

My name, if you're interested in my story, is Moss O'Malley.  I'm a twenty-five-year-old professional thief.  I'm also a shifter.  I turn into a big fluffy Ragdoll with bright green eyes.  Yeah, I'm genuinely cute and cuddly.  But also devious.

From 56% on my e-reader...

We also watched at least ten hours of TV a day, and it was glorious.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

My name is Moss O’Malley, and I’ve just been sentenced to three years in the Magical Corrections System. Thanks to my thieving ways—or rather, the fact I got caught—I have to live the next three years as a cat, unable to shift back to my human form or use magic of any kind.

Just when I think I’m about to lose my mind for good, an agent breaks me free on one condition. I have to help her with a case. So now I must serve and protect, using my criminal wiles to catch others doing the same kinds of things that got me locked up in the first place.

It beats languishing at the cat rescue—sure—but will I be able to catch the super-powered bad guys without having any powers of my own to call on?

What do you think?  What are you sharing today?

  1. I have to admit it...a thief stuck as a literal cat is a pretty unique setup for a mystery. I hope you enjoy it once you get to it! Have a great weekend!

  2. As much as I love watching TV, I'm not sure I could really enjoy watching more than 10 hours a day for more than about one day. I'd have to do some other stuff, like reading in there, too.

  3. Love the intro! Happy weekend!

  4. I'm not sure how you are feeling about blogger these days but I am nearly fed up with it. It took me seven times to login to make a comment on your blog and we both use blogger! Gr.r.r.r

Anyway. I love the title of your book. So clever. Enjoy!

    1. I haven't had trouble commenting on other blogger blogs, but I'm a bit annoyed with all the spam posts that are being dug up from many years ago. It's just really weird.

  5. That sounds good and I love the cover. XO

  6. A thief who turns into a ragdoll! I love the idea! I hope you have a great weekend, Yvonne!

  7. I love the expression of the cat's face on the cover. She looks so shocked. Fun premise and I love the teasers!

  8. This sounds so good! :D I added it to my TBR. Thanks!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
