The Weekend Review - May 6th-8th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe the first week of May is already gone and summer is right around the corner.  In Florida, it already feels like summer.  Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do any walking because of the high humidity which means I haven't listened to any audiobooks.  I really want to finish the Agatha Raisin book that I'm listening to so I might have to just listen in the house.

I only finished one book this week and it was a good one.  It's part of one of my favorite cat cozy mystery series by Miranda James.  I really need to keep going with the series.  I truly love it.

I continue to watch my TV shows and I'm pretty much caught up.  Of course, they will all be having their season finales soon.  With the writer's strike, who knows when we'll get the fall season with new episodes.  Just means more reading time for me :)

Everything has been pretty much the same here.  How has your week been?  I hope you all have a great upcoming week!

I finished reading ...

I'm still listening to...

These are on my May reading list.  A few of them are carried over from April.  It still looks manageable, but you never know when I might see something else I want to add on to the list.

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  2. We were cold most of the week, but the sun finally came back out yesterday. Today is 71, it's a beautiful day. Have a great weekend!

  3. I've thought about trying Miranda James' books. I used to read more cozies than I do now. Agatha Raisin sounds fun too. It finally warmed up here, we hit 70's finally but then it rained and cooled off again :)

  4. It was cold for So Cal in May this last week. Fortunately, it's supposed to warm up again this coming week.

  6. I really should read a new Nora Roberts book. I do enjoy them when I read them but it has been a few years

    Have a great reading week!

  7. When it gets warm here, it isn't long until it is hot, with high humidity. I'd rather it stay cool as long as it can!

Hopefully the writers' strike will be resolved soon. It's always the people who do the real work who get paid the least, I think.

  8. You've got some fun books lined up. We've yet to see any hint of summer yet in Seattle - still cool and drizzly....I feel like we haven't even hit spring yet! The garden is leafing but there hasn't been enough sun for the flowers yet. :(

  9. It's getting colder here with us and I just don't like winter.... But at least there's always time to snuggle and read a bit!

I haven't been listening to audiobooks a lot lately either, but I do want to try to get back in the habit.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  10. I've read a few of the Agatha Raisin books... they are a lot of fun! It seemed like we had a couple of days with slightly lower humidity last week, or it could have been the strong sea breeze that made it feel a bit more comfortable. It's pretty uncomfortable once that high humidity kicks in. Hope you have a good week.

  11. It's getting kind of warm here too.
I like to listen to my audiobooks while cleaning house, maybe you could do that. :)

Have a great week and happy reading!

  13. Miranda James does write a good cozy mystery and this series is one that attracts me. One day!

  14. The writers strike has the potential to be very disruptive, though I’m definitely on their side.

Wishing you a great reading week

  16. The humidity is starting to kick in here but thankfully it hasn't gotten too bad just yet. I have Hard Dough Homicide and Identity both coming up on my TBR and I'm looking forward to both. Have a great week!
