Theme Thursday - Atmosphere

Theme Thursdays

This is a new meme hosted by kavyen at Reading between Pages.. “Theme Thursdays” will be open from one thursday to the next and anyone can post it. The rules are simple:

* A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
* Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
* Post it and don’t forget to mention the author and the title of the book
* Since we may take a few days to finish a book, this event is open for one whole week

This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.

This week’s theme is – Atmosphere

This week I'm reading...

This sounded like a hard theme, but I think I came up with something...

Getting to Dr. Dan's house wasn't difficult, especially on a Sunday. There was very little traffic going north through town, and once I was off twenty-four and on the county road there was none. Dr. Dan did not live in a mansion. His lovely, brick ranch-style house sat about two-hundred yards off the road, nestled on forested acreage. Ceiling fans and what looked like track lighting adorned a very long porch. It was nicely decorated for Christmas with fake icicle lights and a stuffed Santa sitting in a rocking chair.

  1. This was a nice one. Your post gives on a nice, cozy atmosphere...

  2. I can get a real picture in my head of what's going on. Good one.

    Here's mine:

  3. So descriptive. Looks like you got festive as well.

  4. Very cozy! You did great...I had a really hard time with this one and it was my own suggestion!

  5. Good choice, I can feel the Christmas-y vibes!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
