Booking through Thursday - New or Borrowed Books

This week's question...

All things being equal (money, space, etc), would you rather own copies of the books you read? Or borrow them?

My answer...

This is an easy one for me. If I didn't have to worry about money or space, I definitely would rather own copies of the books I read. I love the "new book" smell and I always love being able to look back at some "oldies". It's especially helpful when I'm reading a later book in a series. Sometimes I need a refresher and it's helpful to have the previous books right there. However, things aren't equal and I can no longer afford to keep my books once they are read (especially because of lack of space).

    I wish that I had the space to keep everything. I would love to have a library in my house!

    I am literally surrounded by my books...even though I do now have a Kindle. Even after giving away some books, I kept a few old favorites from the past, as well as newer ones; I like the feeling of books all around me, which I describe in MY THURSDAY MEMES POST

    I like having my own books, I do donate some to my local library, when things begin to get out of hand, but mostly I love having my own books.

    I mostly borrow books, but I buy those I really like.

    I’m a big re-reader so I like to own my books. But I'm running out of space even with my kindle so I am going to have to start getting rid of some soon.
