Theme Thursday - Male Person

Theme Thursdays

This is a new meme hosted by kavyen at Reading between Pages.. “Theme Thursdays” will be open from one thursday to the next and anyone can post it. The rules are simple:

* A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
* Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
* Post it and don’t forget to mention the author and the title of the book
* Since we may take a few days to finish a book, this event is open for one whole week

This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.

This week’s theme is – Male Person

This week I'm reading...

He held the boy close to him. So thin. My heart, he said. My heart. But he knew that if he were a good father still it might well be as she had said. That the boy was all that stood between him and death.

  1. Luved this book. The father and son make for plenty good male theme excerpts. You picked a good one.

  2. From all I've heard about this book, the relationship between father and son was wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Whoa, heavy!

  4. I like how this snippet is going. Will look forward to your thoughts on this book

  5. The Road is the perfect book for this theme. Good choice!

  6. +JMJ+

Very moving! McCarthy perfectly captures both the intensity and the tenderness of this father's love for his son. Great choice of snippet! =)

  7. I remember this part. This book made me cry.

  8. Great Choice- Love following this theme.
