It's hard to believe but we say goodbye to 2015 and welcome 2016. It really went fast and wasn't a particularly good year for me and my family. I lost my beloved father. I still think about him all the time and it's hard to believe he's not still with us. Hopefully 2016 will be a better year.
Now to wrap up my reading and blogging year.
I'm going to start with my monthly reads for November and December. Then, I'll wrap up the whole year. Here we go...

Goodbye 2015
Challenges
Completed: 6
Did not complete: 3
In addition to the six above, I also completed my Goodreads challenge. I wanted to read 100 books and I finished 101. I just made it :)
Books
First book in 2015: Christmas on Mimosa Lane by Anna DeStefano
Last book in 2015: Guarding Sophie by Janet Brannagh
5 Kitty Star books: 37 - that's not too bad. There were many 4 and 3 star books, too, but these were the best of what I read.
Although I had 37 books that were "5 kitties", these were my top ten favorites in no particular order:
The Gates of Evangeline by Hester Young
Words with Fiends by Ali Brandon
Buy A Whisker by Sofie Ryan
The Mysterious Doll by Linda Weaver Clarke
Black Cat Crossing by Kay Finch
Murder Fir Christmas by Joyce and Jim Lavene
Mrs. Kaplan and the Matzoh Ball of Death by Mark Reutlinger
Fry Another Day by J.J. Cook
Give Em Pumpkin to Talk About by Joyce and Jim Lavene
Demise in Denim by Duffy Brown
Welcome 2016
I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions, since I forget about them by the end of the first week of the new year :) However, I do have a few goals...
First, I want to concentrate more on reading and less on blogging. I will keep doing the memes that I enjoy, writing reviews, blog tours and reading challenges but I will be doing less of them. Less means less, not none :) I, also, intend to read more books just for fun and not necessarily those I'm asked to review.
I'm going to sign up for the Goodreads challenge again for another 100 books in 2016. I can't seem to do more than that in any year. So, I'm happy with that number :)
I signed up for 10 reading challenges, plus I'm again hosting 2 which I will be participating in as well. All of the challenges are geared towards helping me complete some goals - completing older requested reviews and catching up with my NetGalley and Edelweiss requests.
I can't think of anything else, but that's a good start. I hope you all have a wonderful 2016 and it brings all you wish for!
Yvonne, I hope your year ahead is wonderful! I have cut back on my posting this past year. I still love to read, and to write, but have not posted as much due to "time issues" (I wish there truly were extra hours in the day!). Anyway, I enjoy my visits here, and learn about the many cozies that you feature. Thank you for visiting my blog, and for all of your terrific comments. :)
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy hearing about what you've been reading, Yvonne. I know this has been a sad year for you. Here's hoping that 2016 brings more joy and light to your life. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDelete2015 was a sad year for you but I'm hoping 2016 will be wonderful. You did some fantastic reading and I can't wait to see what you talk me into getting for 2016!
ReplyDeleteI hope 2016 will be a better year for you and your family; it was a rough year. Good luck with your blogging and reading goals!
