Theme Thursday - Female Person
Labels:
theme thursday
This is a new meme hosted by kavyen at Reading between Pages.. “Theme Thursdays” will be open from one thursday to the next and anyone can post it. The rules are simple:
* A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
* Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
* Post it and don’t forget to mention the author and the title of the book
* Since we may take a few days to finish a book, this event is open for one whole week
This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.
This week’s theme is – Female Person, Description of a Woman
This week I'm reading...
He stood at the doorway, watching a lovely woman with an apron tied around her waist, peeling and slicing apples and placing them evenly in a baking dish.
John grinned as he watched her busy hands. Today was their wedding anniversary and he noticed that Julia was dressed in a dark-red knit top and a black skirt that came just above her calves. He gazed at her legs and smiled. At forty-two, she was even more appealing to him than ever before. How he loved his wife and companion!
Julia was an investigative reporter for the Dixie Chronicle in St. George, utah. She was a stubborn and determined woman with rich auburn hair that touched the tops of her shoulders. She had hazel eyes and they still intrigued John after all these years. They had flecks of godl and brown with a green lining around the edges. He had never seen such eyes.
Sorry for the long snippet, but I couldn't decide when to stop. The whole thing described the heroine perfectly.

Good description. Mine was going to be longer as well but I cut it off because it was talking about two females instead of just one.
ReplyDeleteGreat snip-it choice! Very descriptive!
